Mid grade pricing

I have recently had some 1935 bank notes graded and thy $25 note came back with grade such as VF30. The catalogue has a VF price of $5000 and XF priced at $8000. From what I have seen and heard the VF30 should be priced between the 2 at $6500. Does any one else agree? I see it all the time with coins. I get people telling me there is no difference in price because it is not in the book.

You are correct on the mid-range pricing for the mid-grade assessment, such as VF30.
If it was a VF35, calculate it first to VF30 in the middle, then do it again in the middle of VF30 and EF40.
The people telling you there is no difference want to buy your VF30 notes for strict-book VF20 prices.
