I was recently searching some auction
sites and noticed that there appeared to
be a lot of Grand River Pulp and Lumber Merchant
Script available for sale at very high prices
The sellers always claim these are “RARE”
finds and “ Extremely “ hard to come by
so I did a few searches on line
and noticed an article by Geoffrey Bell
Auctions stating that a Hoard of these
Scripts have been found and they are
no longer considered Rare or Scare
Can anyone who is familiar with these items
elaborate  on how this affects the prices
of these scripts and where/who had discovered
this hoard
Any information is appreciated
I can only assume that if this is true it
is something collectors should be aware
of as to not overpay or be fooled into
thinking that these items are scarce
I was always wondering as to how this
Hoard would affect the next price in
the catalogue ?

Here is the link in case anyone is interested

Hi Squid
The $1 and $2 are still rare, as far as I am aware - please correct me if I'm wrong.  The other denominations 5¢ to $5 are now plentiful, and seem to sell in the $20 to $50 range for high grade notes.  These will be dropped from the Registry.  I will resist (with difficulty) the temptation to comment on the marketing strategy used for this hoard.
