Title: A coin question....

is this what you would call a red? and if so what is it worth?

The coin is difficult to grade because of the quality of the scan and the fact it has not been removed from the 2X2.  Based on the apparent condition of the rims, it is not an UNC and therefore of little value whether a full red or otherwise .  The coin is fairly common in high grade - MS-64 and MS-65 -and sells for about half trends which is $100 and $300 in full red.  If you send me a scan of the obverse of the coin removed from the 2X2 (the more KBs the better) I would be pleased provide a more informed opinion.
