Title: Specimen and matched # sets

This is kind of a braod question,but I am very interested in aquiring some of the Bank of Canada sets of all years and series,such as the Matched number sets and specimen sets,I know the current book value as I have the current catalog,has anyone here bought any of these from the original sales or even attended to these sales and could give me an idea of what these sets went for originally.

The prieces of the sets I see for sale now range drastically from well below book to way above.

Also,any ideas on whether these would be a good long term investment,any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I know i have seen in the past Birds specimen sets $2-$100 all 0000000 numbered notes, selling price about $1,000  but the $2-$1,000 usually goes for about $2,800
There are also other low matching serial sets available mainly in the multicolored series and birds that also go for around the same price for sets $1-$100. I invite you to check out p.361 of the charlton guide if you own one for more info on matching # sets, and p.310+335 for specimen sets.
