Title: 2006 $5 note serial # 0000068
Post by: Shylo on March 16, 2016, 06:46:59 pm
So my first "low serial" number find out in the wild...

The overall grade of the note would be at least Fine ... but one edge of the note has been trimmed and is torn and frayed I would down grade this note to VG.

Since this is only a $5 note I'm just going to keep it.... but what would there be a premium for a note like this? Has anyone ever seen one like this sell and if so for how much?

Nice find.   Too bad condition is pretty bad, tear and all.   I think the value for a low numbered note like this is around $10 to $20 at most, in this condition.

-Yeah, that's a very hard note to find. I've only found a few in the hundreds range but maybe VF-EF.  I think "coinsplus" is correct as I may have gotten double (or close to) face for mine so although they're quite "tough" or hard to come by- they're just not that desired in circulated condition. A good "keeper" for sure.
