Title: Same position numbers

Hi! I was reading past replies when at reply #9 from rag picker I couldn,t help but notice that the AOG 9983354  plate numbers front and back are the same as the plate nuimbers on a group of notes I have AOG5873711-3720, all with front plate #68 back plate #63. I really have no idea as to the system used in numbering banknotes and was interested in knowing if this is normal. There is also the difference in that mine have no varnish on them but the later one does. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Without straying too far from topic, there are 40 combinations of plate (position) numbers, as there are 40 notes per sheet. Hudson AB has written extensively on banknote numbering, so I would refer you to his articles elsewhere on this site. What you are seeing (ie: matched combinations) is common.

Yes this is normal. They are a multiple of 40,000 apart, which is how they group them for printing.
