Title: Bank of Canada Announces Appointment of Deputy Governor
Post by: FogDevil on April 14, 2009, 08:50:21 am
Sorry, but I had to come back briefly for this one.

It looks like there may be another signature change coming on our banknotes eventually.  Timothy D. Lane may be Jenkins' replacement as the BoC's Deputy Governor.

HERE (http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/press/2009/pr09-3.html) is a link to the press release.  I'm surprised nobody posted the link to this article back in February.

Now I shall head back to retirement.

From the article:
Quote
Mr. Lane's appointment, which resulted from an open search process, fills the vacancy created by the departure of Sheryl Kennedy.

The Bank's governing council is composed of the Governor (Mark Carney), one Sr. Deputy Governor (Paul Jenkins), and four Deputy Governors (Pierre Duguay, David Longworth, John Murray, Timothy Lane). Only the Governor and Sr. Deputy Governor sign banknotes.

While Mr. Lane may one day be appointed to the role of Sr. Deputy Governor and/or Governor, he does not presently hold either of those roles nor is he slated for them at this time.
