Post by: flyhigh888 on July 19, 2010, 03:54:26 pm
Are there any good Canadian tpg companies that grade error notes?
Im trying to avoid the cross boarder companies

It would depend on what type of error you are attempting to get graded

Just wondering your purpose in having the note graded? Are your unsure of the grade or planning on selling the note or just looking for the value of the note?

If your looking for the value, I would post a picture of the note here because there are a few error collectors that should be able to give you an indication of it's value.

Besides, if they are all mismatched numbers, that would be neat to see.

If they are all mismatched serial errors then yes BCS will grade them. Cheers

Since I just started collecting about two months ago, its difficult to figure out the grades. Althought i have the charlton guide 22-23rd editions im still having a hard time. I also wanted it to be protected from the the surrounding beside being in a safe.

Wow, very nice, thanks for the pics.

As for grading, hang in there, takes a while. Grading is subjective, and if you poke around this site, you'll see it can be a hotly debated topic.  :o

I contacted them to get a confirmation of mismatch digits grading, Steve said:

I’m sorry to say that you were misinformed.  We do not certify any error, whether it be printing, numbering, or prefix letters.

Sorry for the trouble.

So, What are the other alternatives?

I think they are perfect just the way they are. These notes are unique, so why add the expense of paying to have someone else put them in a holder for you. Save your money.

Here are a few options if you must have the notes graded;
