I heard something about this on the news the other day. So I thought it would be a fun quetion to post.
Who would you most like to see on a future Canadian Bank Note ?
Please post a few names if you wish and why

Terry Fox
Ran from Newfoundland to Thunder Bay. I've drivenn tht highway west of Sault Ste Marie, those are some BIG hills. The perfect example of Canadian perserverence.
Don Cherry

I've heard that Trudeau has not been very photogenic of late, and that you might find his handshake rather stiff and unresponsive... ::) :D

I like the Terry Fox candidate
A Few others I can think of:
1) Drs. Banting and Best (penicillin)
2) Alexander Graham Bell (inventor)
3) Marshall McCluhan (media theorist)
4) General Issac Brock and Tecumseh (War of 1812)
5) Billy Bishop (WW 1 ace pilot)
6) Rick Hansen (wheelchair athlete -around the world tour)
7) the group of Seven (famour artists)

I like Terry Fox as well, but Trudeau not. I want to see the theme to be more away from politicians and more to people from other walks of life and influence. WW's list looks good so I would include Tommy Douglas as a physician rather than the former Saskatchewan Premier. Capt. George Vancouver, but Samuel Champlain has already been on the nickle dollar and some DC notes. 8-)
General back of the note themes like a picture of the St. Roche in the Arctic, the original Hudson's Bay building, the Canadarm and space shuttle, the historical trans Canada Railway being built by the immagrants, Queen Elizabeth signing the Constitution...maybe...but I feel lukewarm about that one, etc.
My NOT list,
Trudeau (especially with the one finger salute).
Usually people that are still alive.
William Shatner
Conrad Black
Any City skyline. :P
My FUN List,
Buxvet's Sir Wilfred Rastaman
Paul Henderson and the BIG goal (I did mentioned 'Usually')
If Quebec eventually separates, Henri Richard on the Ten Franc
John Labatts [smiley=beer.gif]

1) Jesus. I know he's not Canadian, but maybe then money wouldn't be the root of all evil.
2) If choosing 1) means sex would then be the root of all evil, put Alanis Morrissette or Rick Hansen.
3) Celine Dion would never agree unless the banknote paper was made as thin as humanly possible. But if she does agree, I'm emigrating to the U.S.

Not List:
Pierre Trudeau, he was not a great anything.
Alexander Graham Bell, he was not Canadian.
Celine Dion, too skinny, keep her in Vegas.
Good list:
Terry Fox, Wayne Grezky, Shania Twain, Foster Hewitt, Maurice Richard.

Pierre Trudeau, he was not a great anything. Could not have said it better myself!
But he owned and drove (without pranging) a MERCEDES 300SL ROADSTER so he'll always be one of the best in my book !!

Pierre's classic $150,000 car is now in the possession of his son, and likely future Prime Minister, Justin ....

Good Lord, man; don't say that, not even in jest!! :o :o

I guess I should have said "possible future Prime Minister" rather than "likely future Prime Minister"!

This is an easy one !
A lovely vignette of the oil sands project on the finest stock of tar paper, that way we can all feel the wealth of our great lands ! Albeit a little sticky in high humidity.

You say you "reiterate", but I was unable to locate your first post making that claim.
I also believe that political commentary is not appropriate for this forum. There are many forums out there that discuss politics.

Hey how about some of our favourite old time hockey legends? Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr. I would think that they have many many fans due to the Canadian Hockey History.. What does everyone else think about theses characters....
