Hello! I'm wondering if anyone can help.
I found a 1986 $5 bank note today and I'm trying to figure out if it's rare or common and how much it might be worth. It's not very vivid in colour, and when I showed my mom, she joked someone had washed and ironed it, haha. Signatures are MK and DAD, serial number ANS1153939. Not sure if any other info is need. I can't seem to find any online with the ANS prefix, so I'm wondering a bit if anyone would fake a $5 note..? I can post photos if that would help? Any help is appreciated, thank you. :)

The $5s with ANS prefix were legitimately issued.
They have no collector value in beat up condition.
Book value for Gem Uncirculated is only $15.
I think you might as well spend it.

The signature on your note is Knight-Dodge ;) This was part of the final run of the 1986 series issued in late 2001.

Oh, neat! :D I'm impressed when people know such specific things about bank notes! I just started collecting last week, so it's all new to me! Thank you!
