Folks,
I recently won an eBay bid for a 1937 $1 Osborne & Towers thinking this was a rarity. I only paid $50 for it. Looks to me like EF. I don't think the guy who sold it knows anything about Canadian Banknotes. Just wondering if I could get some insight, and whether or not it would be worth getting graded?
Item number is 271259277710
Thanks folks!

Not worth getting graded. That note would grade VF on the best of days. The book says VF is worth $55

Did you enjoy explaining to them what "S&H to Canada" was? :D

haha, I thought it was a little strange he didn't know what it meant!
The edges looked pretty crisp on the note, and it didn't look wrinkled, but obvious signs of a few folds were evident. Was hoping it'd be closer to EF than VF. I ilke that it is A/A as well for my personal collection.
If I paid book value, I guess that's fine. I don't see many of these around for a reasonable price. Usually 100 + in varying conditions that look similar to this one.
Thanks for the input, folks!

This is a good note to have, the Osborne-Tower notes are all quite scarce and continue to climb in value even the $1 note. I don't think you did a bad purchase as these notes do tend to be harder to find.

I figure I'll try for the $10 Osborne-Towers next, since I already have Gordon and Coyne in nice shape. I found the $10 to be easier to find, but not as many in decent shape. Soo many out there to collect!! Eventually I'd like to get a narrow panel Gordon - Towers $1 as well.

The $10 notes with Osborne-Towers are easier to find then the $5 and the $20. I often see them up for sale but the $5... almost never. The same is true also in the 1935 series.
