In case anybody didn't notice, the Heritage Coins auction of 20 January 2008
lists a Molsons Bank 1871 $7 note in VG condition (lot number 13286). Anybody happen to know just how many of these are known??

Twelve known at present. Not really in the top class as far as rarity goes, but in demand because of the unusual denomination.

I would say the note received very positive results as far as time of year and the extensive restorations suffered.

The note went to a mail bid for $8500 US + 18% commision and tax/duties
