Do you like the 1954 Series. Why or why not

I like the scenes on the back of the notes. My kids think it's cool to see QEII that young.

The 1954 Series has always been a sentimental favourite of mine as they were the first notes that I saw in circulation when I immigrated to Canada from Britain in 1968. I particularly liked the simple geometric obverse designs, the true-to-life reverse designs, and the distinct fresh colours used for each different denomination. I recall that even in 1968 the $20 note was the "work horse" denomination that, just like today, was more plentiful than the $5.
I never really appreciated the Multicolour Series as the designs are a bit too "busy" for me. However, I like the bold simple designs of the subsequent Birds Series. I don't like the current notes very much as a lot of the text is so small that it's difficult to read without a loupe. In addition, I don't like the way in which the hair on the portraits has been trimmed off. On the $20 note the Queen seems to be sporting a crew cut ..... I wonder if the Queen was consulted about this? ;)

I myself really like the 1954 paper money because of the scenes on the back and because of the nice colours they used. The bill i like most from that series would probably have to be the $10 because of the colour.

I have always liked the '54 series as it is the first notes that I remember as a kid. My Mom always carried a spare '54 $5 in her purse and I use to think that it was so much money.

1954s, if not treated or cleaned, smell the best. My Fav by a longshot.
