Thanks. But the database doesn't show if Lane/Macklem FZT is rare. Anyone knows?

So far very few Lane-Macklem $20 notes of any prefix have been seen in circulation, but we will see many of them eventually. The FZT changeover is at 8 million so only 2 million first prefix FZT Lane-Macklem notes will be issued. They will not be rare by all means, but finding uncirculated notes will be very hard, because (1) $20 is the most common denomination and a lot of prefixes are printed each time, and (2) Prefixes are released in no particular order.

The FZT series was a turn-over prefix - meaning there was change of signature at sometime during the issue.  Therefore, the prefix FZT itself is not rare, but there were less printed with the same signature combinations on them, making two 'short-runs'.  Have a look at the Serial Number Database and look up the prefix $20 FZT and the signature combinations.

Stopped in at 3 branches today and I think the banknote 'gods' are on holiday this weekend. I got one new HCF high note, a whereswilly.com note ,and I'm sure the gods meant this other 'defaced' note for Dean ... !!!

Are Prefix FZT Polymer Frontiers Series $20 bills hard to find?

May 17th finds:

I stopped by one of my banks on the way home yesterday.  I was able to get a handful of paper notes.  Nothing really special about this lot, but it’s important to keep the teller connections alive.

May 16th find:

Homesteading…in 2018?

This journey $50 I found today has some curious writing on it.

On the front, someone wrote:
March 10 2018 under some unintelligible handwritten name.

On the back, it says “Back at 222 Springwater Road” “Family Homestead”.

Maybe I am mistaken on the address…Any opinions?

Two banks, two scores!

I visited two banks today and I managed to score a few paper notes.  It’s amazing what you can get if you know the right people.

Hi All,

While I am not a coin hunter per se, recently I noticed that a local pub has been throwing all coins lower than a quarter into a bucket under the bar for a few years.  The bucket weighs about 20 lbs and is filled with mostly nickels and dimes.  As my curiosity about what might be in the bucket got the best of me, I offer to buy the coins and sort through them, hunt them, roll them, and pay the bar owner for them.

I started to sort the coins in the bar where the lighting is dark, but with high powered pin point spots, and started to pick out pennies and throw them in a pile.  When an odd sparkle from the penny pile caught my eye, so I put it aside to look at later. When I did, this is what I found.

Going to load lots of photos of this penny.  Offering a proverbial penny for everybody’s thoughts!
