I have just found my first commemorative 2017 coin, a toonie, in my change here in Toronto. Has anyone else seen these coins in circulation? Does anyone know if the colorized versions of 25 cent and $2 coins will be released at the same time as the regular versions?

I got a roll of quarter and toonies. No colour in them.

These coins have been in circulation since early March. As for the colorized versions of the 25 Cent and $2, to my knowledge they are non-circulation only.

Thanks! I just found out that according to the mint the colorized versions of 25c and $2 will be issued to circulation "later this year". Currently they are only available in sets or specially packaged rolls. It looks like by not releasing the colorized coins right away the mint is hoping to maximize the sales of these products.

UPDATE They are now in circulation both the 25Cent and the 2 Dollar colored version.
