Title: What happened to this 5$ 2004?

I found this 5$ note where the writings on the face of Laurier appear clearly, without the use of a UV light. The gold maple leaves, left to the "5", are also more obvious than usual.

First here are the pictures, comparing the weird bill to a normal one, both 2004:

And for the dimensions...
weird one: 148mm X 69mm
normal one: 152mm X 70mm

Nothing so far have convinced me that it could be a fake. I assume this 5$ is smaller because it shrinked after a bath, or a few washes.
Maybe some product (detergent?) revealed the writings, normally invisible without a UV?

I don't know  ??? , and that's why I share my interrogations with you!
You've seen this before?
Do you know of any substance that can make those "invisible" writings clear?

You might be right. The guide the Bank of Canada said that genuine notes might fluoresce if it has come in contact with water or cleaning agents.

Yeah! Good info, Neon Zidane. Water, cleaning agents... I think that will solve the case!  :)
