$20-$100 - 1954 Devil Face Notes

I have several 1954 Devil Face bank notes that I would like to know the value of but I can't get a hold of a Charlton Catalogue, they were issued September 9,1954 and are all in excellent condition as I inhereted them from  a collector, I don't know too much about them, but very eager to learn and start my own collection:

Hi there queenirene, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but none of your notes are 1954 Devil face notes.  They are all from the Modified Portrait series.  Still it's a nice collection to start with.

Valuation is difficult without some better description of the condition.

The signatures on your 1937 $100 bill will be Coyne-Towers, again a detailed description is needed to give a reasonable valuation.  It would vary between $125 in well circulated condition to $1,000 + in uncirculated condition.

What would be considered non-modified Devil's face notes?

The early printing of the 1954 notes were known as Devil Face notes They were printed with only 2 possible signature combinations.  All Coyne-Towers sigs and the first Beattiie-Coyne sigs.

The Charlton catalogue will list the exact serial numbers for each denomination, upon which the queen's portrait was modified to remove the illusion of the "devils face".

SO if their sigs were Beattie / Coyne they're the real Devil's Face Notes.
If so I have five crisp bills with no creases in the middle and still vibrant colouring.

Would those be considered Devil's Face Notes? I do not have access to a Charlton catalogue as of yet, so I am unable to check for myself. I grately appreciate your assistance.

Also my 1937 Note has a ligh crease in the middle but otherwise still very crisp and colour is true compared to scans I've seen online.

As for grading of the notes they are considered very fine to extremely fine.

Your 1954 Be-Co, $100 notes are all Modified Portrait.  Any $100 Be-Co signature after serial # A/J 2392001 was Modified.  Charleton Book Value: VF - $120, EF - $170, AU - $225, UNC - $360

1937 Co-To, $100,  Book value: VF - $190, EF - $275

One more thing, are the values you gave me for the modified bills or for actual devil's face notes? If not, do you have any idea what they could be worth (the modified bills that is)?
