I thought I would just ask for a poll on this subject. I realize I helped create the code of conduct, but in reading the code, it could be interperted against wishing Merry Christmas to people.
I realize we have many religions ,cultures and ethnic diverse people on the forum.
Question
Is it against the code of conduct to Say "Merry Christmas"?
Thanks

I prefer Happy Festivus ;D

Hey I love Christmas, I promise not to be offended.
If I said “Gloria, in Excelsis Deo!” would I offend any Latin speaking collectors?

I think that would be fine....I don't think any member is named Gloria:)

Thanks Squid mon, but if there is someone named Gloria she should let me know if I did so I could apologize in the appropriate politically correct manner and throw myself before the mercy of the unelected human rights tribunal for judgement...... :-X Say how much is the fine?
Hey Raven, you still around?

You have got to be kidding. I can't believe that this post even exists. How could wishing someone merry christmas in any way be considered slander, libel, or defamation?
At worst, it would be considered politically incorrect, but I have no intention of going anywhere near that extreme. Personally, I enjoy the substantially tongue-in-cheek holiday greetings as follows:
Best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible,
low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, winter solstice holiday, practiced
within the most joyous traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice,
but with respect for the religious persuasion of others who choose to practice
their own religion as well as those who choose not to practice a religion at all;
Additionally,
a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated
recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due
respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions have
helped make our society great, without regard to the race, creed, color,
religious, or sexual preferences of the wishes.
(Disclaimer: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal.
It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes
for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional
stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.)

calendar year 2007
This greeting appears to be outdated:)
I truly now believe that the papermoney market is slow and stagnant when there is nothing better to discuss than this.....it is a sad day for me :'(
