Well, today marks the day that I am officially done with University. I graduated from the Bachelor of Mathematics (B.Math) program at the University of Waterloo today.
Now I get to put a degree on my wall, and a B.Math after my name :D

Congrats!!! :)

Congratulations Brent, check you pm box - I have some good news :)

Fantastic, Oliver! So glad to hear that! (The second part, not that you're chronologically-challenged) ;)
Thanks all for the congratulations. I'm really proud of this degree. A B.Math degree is uncommon, as less than a dozen universities worldwide offer it. Most offer B.A. or B.Sc. degrees for mathematics. The UW B.Math is very highly regarded worldwide as one of the best.
I'm going to take it into my boss' office today and cheerfully suggest a raise. hehehe :D I'm putting my odds of success at about 5%. ::) I can try the trick of saying that I was speaking with Mike Lazaridis from Research in Motion today. (That much is 100% true). But it wasn't about a job. It was about getting my degree. Mike is the Chancellor of the University of Waterloo and was overseeing the entire convocation ceremony and the conferring of the degrees.

Well done. NOw if you could just get a job.

Thanks again, everyone! It's great to have all you folks as friends. I have learned a lot from all of you and I hope some day people can learn something from me. It's not every day you get a degree, so I'm going to toot my horn proudly today. Tomorrow though it's back to work.

Ok, now let's do the math, the degree cost how much money? How many years do you need to pay off the student loans? Depressing isn't it? ;D
Good job though.

Congrats big guy! :)
and only 23!?
and all this time I thought a knowledgable character like yourself was older! ;)
I guess that's what all that education does for you! ;D
I heard Waterloo was tough... and with those sterling qualifications-- its just a matter of time for you to get what you want. Soon enough you will be reaping the rewards of your hard work. Just remember-- if anyone tells you how lucky you are to remind them of your 4 years of toil!
Well done!

Actually, my co-op jobs through university greatly helped cover tuition and an expansion of my collection at the same time. Only since buying a house have I had to curb my acquisition spree.
Yes, I am only 23 ;) Many people on this forum tend to think I am much younger than that, mind you, they tend to make such comments after being told to leave the site for their unacceptable behaviour. Nobody else really makes any sort of comments about my perceived age.

Congrats! Brent, you should be proud of yourself.
