Not easy to find in any grade. Few people saved such items 60 years ago.

If the note was removed for storage in 1940, the $1000 would be worth $13,300 due to inflation in 2005.

Seems that all the osborne-towers signature within this series are all very hard to find. But this particular $1000 is quite scarce!

I saw one on Ebay maybe two months ago. IMO it was a VG and had rounded corners just like this one. Who knows "MAYBE" it's the same note being resold by the buyer. Not sure though, the rounded corners stood out. That happens a lot with people either trying to make a buck or reselling pieces they were not happy with. I think the one I'm referring to a couple of months back went for around $ 2200.

I could not find the completed auction. Can anyone else find it. I think the original seller was from the BC area and not a dealer of banknotes. I think it was the only note they had on thier list

I imagine this one will come something close to that. The market for a low grade note in this instance is probably much higher than higher grade notes because so many fewer people can afford to tie up 5K+ in one note

I've been looking for this note for a little while but I'd prefer one around VF.

The rounded corners are a giveaway. The not has obviously been trimmed
Corners get rounded for sure with wear but not like that. The other notes I
saw was just like it, that's why I figured it was probably the same piece.

It was not as high as 2800, I'm sure it was 22-2300 USD
So I guess close enough to $ 2800 CAD
Way too much for that note
Just gotta be patient
It's easy to get caught up and overpay for a note that you have been looking
for -- for a while with the enthusiasm of having found one.

The trend is certainly low for this note, but I don't think it should command
this much, the bidding is now at $ 2550 * 1.17 = 2983 CAD
