Hello..

Does this note have any more extra value?  The serial is shifted to the left and the Asterix is almost touching the border.  I know it's only a slight error but it does make it an error replacement note.

Anyone think this might increase the value slightly?  It's almost a near radar..

Thoughts?

Technically speaking, if it's not perfect, it's an error, and this clearly is not perfect. However, there are tolerance ranges for what is considered "normal". It is my opinion that this note would fall within the "normal" tolerance range (albeit close to the edge).

I wouldn't blink an eye over this note on the basis of the position of the serial number alone.

I would have to say that there is no extra value here. The shift is very minuscule, and to the untrained eye it would go unnoticed. I am sure that this would be within the acceptable tolerance levels of the Bank of Canada.  It is a nice number and so close to the radar, ouch!

Cheers

I think it's worth a small premium, particularly because it's a replacement and it is noticeably off-centre. Maybe $20-30 over book for the replacement...
