Title: Changeover solid?
Post by: twoinvallarta on July 17, 2006, 08:03:58 pm
I have a Gem Unc BEK5555555 signatures Knight/Dodge
Is this a changeover note? What premium would you give this note,I realize it's what the market will bare.Interested in your opinions. :-/

Yes, this note is a changeover note. It was both a year and signature changeover which occurred at 8,599,999M. As for the premium, well, I guess it is up to the market as you already stated.

Thank you for the info Oli1001.
I'm not too up on these change over's yet, although I understand they are increasing in demand rapidly.

Any other thoughts, anyone, on value.Book is $350 for the solid, would a 15-25% premium for change over seem reasonable?
I've bought a few others, one a DF Unc $2.00 from Don Olmstead, the premium seems to be in that range.I'd be interested to hear what others have been charged for their changeover notes, especially solids.

I am not entirely sure that a 15-25% premium would be attributed to this note, simply because regular issue solid notes are only fetching $300. Another reason being that the BEK changeover occurred at 8,599,999M. Thus, since the market does not bear full book value for solid notes then I am left to believe that a note, with a changeover, would be close to the book value but not exceeding it by 15-25%. Still a gorgeous note!
