Confiscated this note off of a customer last night. It's the most convincing fake I've gotten. A lot of effort was put into the holographic strip but there's no watermark, no thread & no itaglio feel and that wonky prefix obviously gives it away.
They still have a long way to go before they'll be able to fool me :P

Lets not jump to conclusions here, maybe its a BoC test note, or maybe since CBN is not printing $10 Journey notes anymore
the Bank of Canada signed a contract with Business Depot or Kinkos to print notes and they all start with the letter "R" to
differentiate them from BABN notes ? ;)

It looks like a fake to me. The prefix doesn't exist on ANY denomination. To what ive seen on other fakes on the forum the lettering of the prefix is thinner and much more compact. All the tears and holes in the note show the paper isnt a good quality. The BoC makes quality paper. Thats just my input.

WOW, Canada used to have silver coins???
Scott
OK, everyone can stop taking Scott seriously.... Sarcasm classes will be held next Tuesday, and every Tuesday following that until you folks learn to recognize it.
This is from the If you worked for the BOC... thread.
Sign up for classes early as I beleive they will be filling up quickly. ;)

Cool fake.
With a little more shuffing of the numbers, and invert the 9 into a 6 and it would be a ladder.
Sorry, I'm busy with sardonic Irony classes on Tuesdays, Chronic depression on Thursdays, and classic hallucinations by correspondance. Say did anyone see the Counterfeit Journey $5 PLB 5212005?

you could try to pass that one off onto polarbear, he would be so excited to get that one he wouldn't realize it was a fake until you were gone...

Good luck with that...I tried to start a local chapter of Procrastinators Anonymous once. 35 people signed up for it but no one showed up for class... ;D
