*N/Y is the 3rd rarest replacement within the 1954 $1 modified portrait series. Many collectors do not have this prefix in their collection, even i myself have been looking for one for some time now.
In that grade: $75-$150 but people may actually pay up to $200 for that particular condition just do the scarcity of this prefix.

This is a very tough note to aquire in UNC, I've only seen 2 UNC's in the past 4 years for sale. 1 AU, and few lower grades here & there. The D/0 & I/O, are tough in high grade, but there out there for sale if you look hard enough. However, look for an UNC *N/Y, call country wide, you won't find one ! (Olmstead has one for $1200 cdn on his website) Other than that, good luck. Just my dollars worth on his suject. Anybody else on the scarcity of this note ?? Happy Hunting Darcy

yup very rare, i hope one day to get an *N/Y in any grade!
-
Yea, Very rare in UNC. ;)
If you ever see a *N/Y or *I/O in UNC make a deal and take it because They aren't getting any easier to find.
I manager to get an *I/O in UNC but have yet to get the *N/Y. I do know an individual who has one but does not want to part with it. He Paid $1000 for it. :o

Nice note. It looks like the grade is Fine to Very Fine. So you are looking around $75 to $150. To bad that baby was not UNC, you could get $1200!!! :P

By the way has anybody seen the *NY registry, I believe I last saw it under the "Other registries/ 1954" page.
So does anybody here know why these are so hard to find? My ancient edition 3rd edition Charlton says there were 100,000 (est) printed, and that still lots unless someone at the BOC destroyed most of them before they got out the door. I should really get a new up to date Charlton.
Anyway, this note looks better than I remember it now that I just dusted it off. Reiterating from the other thread, I remember buying it at a local bourse from a retiring dealer. Storing it in a large book for some time before being relegated into a safety deposit box for the last 7 years. It has an obvious double fold on the top left (Being crammed into wallet upside-down) That person(s) had filthy hands as evidenced by spots of mild soling. A soft fold in the middle. (perhaps with a wad of other 1954's, maybe NY's too.) What 's a radar version worth?

the notes serial number reads the same front to back as back to front

I'll answer this in another thread as I'm sure there will be some opinion here. Please see "Note Registries - What's In, What's Not." probably in the general forum.
