I beleive the jhs is a $5.00 test note. only one has been seen. So the price would be based on only one.

Since there is only one the price must be extremely high  :)

The 2001 $5 Journey Note with the serial number JHS2912607 (the only known example in private hands) was offered for sale  privately to a select group of collectors and dealers in January 2007.  It is my understanding that the asking price was about $10,000.

The letter below from the Bank of Canada was included with the banknote as part of the sale.

It was at a March 27, 2002 Bank of Canada unveiling of the new $5 bank note that this note was inadvertinely given to a member of the press.  When the note sold on eBay the auction listing stated:

"This note was recently purchased from a Toronto newspaper reporter who did a story about the new $5 bank notes in early March 2002 just before they were officially released.  He and a number of other reporters were each allowed to purchase one note at face value from a Bank of Canada official for their stories.  However, this reporter was a bank note collector, and he noticed that all but one of the notes had the prefix ANV, while one note had the prefix JHS.  He (wisely) bought the JHS note and has held it in his personal collection until a few weeks ago.  It has been perfectly cared for and remains in pristine crisp uncirculated condition."

This $5 note is not a test note in the usual sense, because it was not released into circulation in quantity to study wearing properties.  The JHS note should therefore be considered to be a legally owned and legitimately issued experimental or production trial note.

Did the owner of this note ever sell it?
