Title: $5 Dollar Size Difference
Post by: canadianjd on October 29, 2006, 08:46:00 pm
Yesterday while looking through my spending money. I noticed that the $5 bill i had was at least 3/16" shorter than a $20 bill.  It did not seem as if any of the design had been cut off, or missing just that the bill was made that much shorter. The width was the same.
Is this common and is it any type of variety. Regretably we had spent it!! Kicking myself now.

Thanks.   Canadianjd

It could of been a cutting error. If it was, people would have a hard time believing it is becuase someone could Easily cut it shorter.

I've noticed this recently on a few fives as well.  I haven't paid enought attention to identify a trend but maybe its time to start.

One of the bundles of $5 HOV from the bricks I picked up last week was about 2mm shorter width wise than the rest of the bundles. It almost cut into the printed in date.
