This is the first polymer series printing error I have seen for serial numbers. Good to see that it is still possible to have happen :D

Up for auction tomorrow in Colonial Acre's auction. I am tempted to bid on it.

Wow- different numbers too! (Nice find!)

I see that Colonial has a disclaimer on the note :"Items are as is, no warranty given."
has anyone seen the note in person....
-
That is their standard "Don't Sue Me" disclaimer. Some folks certainly believed that is is real as it sold for a whopping $1,750 plus the juice.

How is the second serial number so out of whack with the first more correctly aligned serial number? Whats the speculation on how this sort of error could have happen or been made? ("made" meaning if the sheet was being used as a set up sheet or some other sort of purposeful reason)

In case of polymer frontier series bank notes it would not be very difficult to verify whether this is a true error or not.
The varnish is applied over the whole bank note after the serial number is printed. The varnish gives a very distinct sheen to the number.
Of course a professional could create that sheen in the ink which would require it to be viewed under higher magnification
It would be very easy to check this with the note in hand.

It appears to be a "multiple serial number" error note which would be listed as "E21" or in the case of your note: BC-72a-E21. An UNC lists at $1100 in the 28th Edition of Charlton.

Ok so the last note had these two numbers:
1691009
1701294
Not counting the last three digits there is a difference of 10,000. And the PN appears to be 56.
I wonder how one explains that. At least the one on sale by Colonial Acres did seem to follow the logic of layout.
Perhaps I am missing something. If you are in the GTA and are able to allow the note to be examined that would be awesome. I would even offer to buy you lunch for your troubles.

Hey yeah sorry I live up north in Sudbury. I found this note in a bank bundle that we ordered for our work, and when I seen this I immediately bought it for face value.
-
I also bought a $20.00 Polymer that was low numbered to 00000003 but not sure how much those retail for. Bill is circulated but in really nice condition too.
