Title: "not acceptable error"
Post by: Dean on July 31, 2007, 05:50:20 pm
Hi,

Can the admins fix this problem?  I access the forum from the main site and the first time I click on the icon it gives the white screen of death.  The second attempt to access the forum is successful.  What's the cause of this error?

Dean.

Is this error reproducible?

Hi Brent,

I'm not sure how to do it.  I just click on the forum link on the main page and there it is.

Maybe it has something to do with the settings on my computer.
thanks,
Dean

I get this on both my computers. Here's a screenshot of one:

I guess I'm not the only one...thank goodness!  ;)

I use Firefox and get this error so it must have to do with the site.

I don't get errors accessing the site (with different versions of IE on 4 or five different computers). May be something cached on the client. When you sign in "forever" a date stamped cookie is dropped into a temp directory on the client. Frequent clearing of the cache and cookies is a good thing to do. Means you have to log in more often though (bummer!!!).

Set your browser to always get the most recent copy of the website. Browsers by nature are lazy and will try to give you an older version of the page if they can.
Try turning security settings to the medium-low range.

If you still can't see it like you want to, reuild it.

I've noticed through the main website:

www.cdnpapermoney.com

- and clicking "CPM Forum"

there can be errors linking to the CPM Forum.  From what I notice, the direct link website address uses:   http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/forum

Now, this can cause problems... and by clicking the link a second time, it will take you to the forum.

If you want an easy transition into the website with no problems whatsoever, you need the following address on your favorites:

http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/forum/    -  you need that last slash "/" in the word 'forum' for a smooth link.  That way, you will have no problems coming into the website.

I hope this helps.

I use Firefox too (with a Macintosh) but have never had any problems accessing the Forum.

Sorry, my fault, I missed the last slash and never tested it. I'll try to get it fixed ASAP.

That's exactly what I've done, is find a clean page load and saved it to my favourites. Never had any problems.
