A pair of Iraq notes with mismatched serial numbers. Should they be Bank of Canada notes, sure Tom would love to get his hands on them.

:o

It took me a while to notice the error in the serial number. >:( It's the second digit of the notes. I think I need new glasses. :P

I'm having a brain cramp on translating the arabic numerals.
Are they: upper note - 286787 / 276787
and lower note - 286786 / 276786
or am I getting my 2's and 6's mixed up.?
-
Not bad... I think you are correct eyevet. :D
-
Your arabic numerals are excellent. :D
-
Yes, Eyevet you are really close.
Allright, just to clarify the Arabic serial numbers on these notes, I was confirmed by the dealer (as I myself don't know Arabic as well), they are:-
Upper 682787/672787
Lower 682786/672786
Funny it has taken us sometime to straighten this out. ;D

Thanks! I thought I was getting my 6's and 2's mixed up.

I tried to post the arabic number symbols here but it did not work but if you go into a word processor and hold down the ALT key and type 1632 on the numeric keypad and then let the ALT key go you will get the arabic 0 and then so on:
0 = Alt 1632
1 = Alt 1633
2 = Alt 1634
3 = Alt 1635
4 = Alt 1636
5 = Alt 1637
6 = Alt 1638
7 = Alt 1639
8 = Alt 1640
9 = Alt 1641

Note: This may not work on all systems. I played with it for just a moment in MS Word and it didn't work. Might be a version conflict or something. I'll try again at home where I've got a newer operating system and a newer version of MS Office.

It works in Word Pad and Office 2003, but not in notepad.
-
It works in Word 2003 on Windows XP, but apparently not in Word 2000 on Windows 2000.
Thx for the info, doc! ;)

I also have these error notes. Does anyone know how much they are worth in UNC condition?
Is it possible for these to be counterfeit, even if it has that security strip? ;D I hope mine isn't
