Title: Quick Question About Specimen Notes

I was looking through eBay today and found a 1954 $2 Specimen Note. And the word "SPECIMEN" on the back is in the design on the back of the note. I dont know much about any of the specimen notes, and I was wondering if this was normal. Because I always it was written in the corner. I was going to check the Charlton, but they had no pictures.

I have one of these notes - if the back of the one you saw looked like this picture then yes, it is normal.

I do have what I consider an error 1972 $5 Specimen note.  The word "Specimen" is perforated twice into these notes and the perforated words are supposed to be aligned.  I have a note where the first perforation of "Specimen" is lower than the second (I've attached pics of my note and a normal example).

Yeah that's what the $2 looked like. I seen a 1954 $5 Note on eBay yesterday and it had the word specimen in the corner. (I guess that is what I was thinking about).

Very Nice 1972 Specimen notes! I agree that the one is an error, In comparison to the normal one there is a big difference.
