Hi everyone, I am looking for #9999999, any body have one, want to trade or sell?, let me know at cameonguyen@aol.com.
-
I seriously hope you know what kind of price that note is valued at..then add about 20 to 30 percent on top of what any book tells you....those solid numbered notes are very VERY expensive...
-
you are right, not too many 9999999 around for sale. where are they?.
-
Solid numbers are very rare, but not impossible to come by. The odds of finding a solid number in the same prefix are about one in a million. The odds of finding a solid number 9999999 in a prefix are one in ten million.
I remember back in 2000, I came across a $5 note with the serial number GPT7777717. I remember this when I was selling raffle tickets for charity. If that one would have been a seven, I would have definitely traded my $5 bill for that one, but then, maybe not, because it was not in good shape.
For solid numbers in a prefix to be worth more, the note would have to be crisp or in pretty good shape.
Now, for finding a 9999999 solid number note, the note may be at the end of a bundle, so it might have a bank stamp or some trifling signs of handling, so it might not be in that good shape. But, you never know - someday you might be able to come across a crisp 9999999 solid number note - someday, eventually.
And that's my 9.999999 cents worth (maybe!)
Bye for now,
Jonathan

Good luck!!
I can't see him breaking up a set like that.
No harm in asking though... ::)
-
9999999 is very really cool! I wish i could have one in my collection or 10000000. The other hard one is 0000001. I would be happy with 7777777... lucky 7's ;D but the closest i have is 7779777 and 9999985 :-/
-
If you limit yourself to Candian radars or solids,,the odds of ever getting one are indeed very slim..and very costly. I have a $1.00 note from Singapore numberd 777777 and a $2.00 Singapore nr 444444.. the closest I have come in Canada is 9988899 $10.00 FDZ K/D series.

Summer...what was I thinking!?!
I put a pool in last year because of the hot, hot summers we were having and didn't add a heater. Ever since then, I think the temp of the water has been over 80 only three times.
SO...
If everyone would like to donate to a pool heater for me, I'm sure once it is installed we will have plenty of heat waves to deal with...
"Murphy's (aka "Sid's) Law" :P
Cameo, I would like to see your $10 devil's face radar note. Is there anyway you can share with the forum by posting a photo??

About 6 months ago I found FEJ 0999999 (one off the million and 1 off a solid radar!) in pretty rough shape, kept it though, its just so nice to look at a # like that... :o
-
Just a tease.
-
What does a "tease" mean?
-
It means I'm letting you look, but it's mine.
-
I'm a new member. I love reading all your letters!! :)
I have few 1954 Modified solids, including S/M 9999999 $10 note.
Does anyone know of a list of known 1937 solids? (I think there are too many solids from 1954 and later to list...)
And is there a list of known number 0000001 notes? I've been tracking these for few years now. So far I found 2 from 1937, 2 1954 Devil's Face, 23 1954 Modified, 2 1967 and over 40 later years.
I'm glad I joined your group :D
-
Glad to have you aboard "elbac".
If you are able to share photos of your notes we would all love to see them. You can "never" have enough of these awesome notes!! Especially the low number devil faces and '37 notes.
Please share if you can!! :D
-
Thanks for the welcome!
I hope I didn't misled you: I've been keeping track of these #1 notes and these are the notes I found at eBay, auctions or dealers lists, not the notes I actually have. Yes, few of them are in my collection, but just 'few'. I purchased most of my notes few years ago, when notes were much more affordable.
I currently don't have a scanner, but I'm planning on getting one...
As to low-numbered Devil's Face, I have $1 A/A, $2 A/B, $5 A/C, $10 A/D and $20 A/E, all #'s 0000464, and also $2 A/B 0000281, all UNC.
Have you seen the current Lyn Knight auction catalogue? There are few #1 and solid's there...
I will gladly share photos of my notes in a near future. :D
-
