Try this test on your holders. If you are young, make sure you have an adault to help you.

This is an easy method to check on the composition of the holders.
PVC will ruin notes and coins. Ensure that holders for collectables are not made from PVC plastic.

DARN... I didn't notice that you were supposed to take the note out of the plastic holder before doing this test.

HAHAHA Very funny Doc!
I see that you too are skilled in the ways of Photoshop! ;)

I own many of 2 types of holders and just tried this test on both types and the flame was green for both. I bought these holders from 2 different dealers, both which are very big and reputable. Are my notes gonna be ruined? If so how can I save them? :'( And who sells good ones? :'(

I have purchased notes from over 10 different people over the last few months, and have just tested the holders I received my notes in from them, and they all have PVC. ??? Am I missing something here? Im gonna snap if my notes are doomed!!! >:(

Use Dupont Mylar hoders and your notes will be well looked after. Try www.denlys.com or www.apcpapercollect.com for your holders. :)

If you know Don Olmstead, a dealer from New Brunswick, he can get them for you as well. These holders aren't cheap though. I changed all of mine over time and I feel the price is well worth it.

Thanks for the info! Just out of curiousity, what will happen to a note when kept in PVC? Does anyone have a scan of a note damaged by PVC?
