Title: 1954 bill
Post by: schoepp on September 19, 2010, 12:45:54 am
I have a 1954 devil's face $20 bill in VG condition, serial number 7778878. I would appreciate feedback on the value of this bill :).

Hello and welcome to the forum,

The devil face $20 has a book value between $30 and $40.

If you could tell me the signatures/prefix, I could tell you the exact book value.

Thanks for the info. The signatures are Beattie and Rasmins......? I am new to bills so not sure of the spelling.

So are serial numbers only valuable if they repeat in pairs?  :)

Regarding the 1954 $20 bill I mentioned in my last post the prefixes are V_E

Is there an * symbol in front of the V/E prefix?

I see now that you listed the serial number in a previous post and it would not have an * symbol.

Hi Schoepp,

Beattie and Rasminsky signatures indicate a modified 1954 note, not a devil's face.   If your note has no asterisk before the serial number, its value in VG condition is only $2 or $3 above face value.
