Title: New Canadian $20 Radar from bank machine.
Post by: BILLWATCHER on February 19, 2011, 09:00:19 pm
Today I got a brand new Canadian $20 from  TDCT bank machine with the serial ARV 8997998.  I know a radar is worth more than a regular bill, but this number seems special because of high numbers.  Does anyone know what this bill could be worth?  Yes I am a newby.

I know a radar is worth more than a regular bill...

Funny you should say that.  According to Charlton, it's worth $25,  the same as a non-radar.

I remember being a novice collector, and finding anything out of the ordinary was definitely a cause for excitement.  When I found a bird series $20 radar note in Unc condition, I thought it was worth a million bucks.  I mean, who gets crisp new radar notes by chance, right??  But reality is that radars are pretty common, and brick searchers have really pounded down the value over the years.  Hence the catalogue value hit a new low.  Try as you might, like a used car salesman, but a $20 radar note these days is a tough sell, even in Unc.

All kidding aside, every three-letter prefix could be an acronym for something.
