Title: 1954 replacement note $1 Lawson-Bouey *C/I
Post by: Leaver on March 28, 2011, 11:40:44 pm
Hi, today I bought the Charlton Catalogue of Canadian Government Paper Money and to my surprise I believe I have a rather rare banknote.

As you can see from the scan, I have a 1954 $1 (Lawson-Bouey), prefix C/I (replacement note?).  If I am reading the catalogue correctly, then I believe the same note can be found on page 246 of the 2011 catalogue (BC-37dA) and it is estimated that 80 of these were printed.

Can anyone confirm the grade and value?

Well, if it was the case....
What you have is not a replacement note. On the same page a few lines above, you will find the same prefix without the asterisk. In that grade (VF), its full catalogue value is $2...
Keep hunting....
