Hi there,
I have a 1935 Bank of Canada (French Version) $50 note. It's a C series, and the serial number is F03995. The signatures are "Osborne / Towers". The Charlton number is BC-14.
Attached to this post are pictures of the front and the back of the note. I think it's in pretty decent condition.
Can anyone provide me with a rough estimate of its value?

Thank you,

Nice note; probably AU. Charlton book value in AU is $15,000. EF is $11,000.

If you get that graded, there may be a very interested buyer for that beauty (namely, me)

Nice Note
Bit of a counting flick and the corners aren't sharp
Looks AU'ish too me too
Tough to come by in that grade

I'm pretty sure that this is the exact same note that I owned in the late 1970's (the serial number looks soooo familiar!). I purchased it from one Mr. A. Prakash (an early connoisseur of high-grade paper) and later I sold it back to him at around the $3,000 mark, which was a heck of a lot of money in those days!
The "Canadian" grade would be AU-58 Original or possibly UNC-60 Original in my personal opinion (depending on the grading company and the day of the week) but it would probably grade higher south of the border!

I had the note graded at BCS today, and it came back as an O.UNC 60. I will edit this post and provide a scan when I get home.
Thank you everyone for the grading information and pricing information!
By the way, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and efficient service at BCS. I would highly recommend their grading service to everyone. I took the day off of work to drive up and deliver the note personally for same-day grading (nah, I'm not paranoid about mailing or anything... :-D) and Steve was amazing. He took the time to explain the final grades of ALL the notes which I submitted, and his expertise on Canadian banknotes was extremely apparent while speaking to him. I'm definitely going to get all of my notes graded at BCS in the future.
