Hi,
I was able to trade for a 1975 $100 AJE2786277 just yesterday from a local supermarket. Older money is scarce, but can still be found. I'll keep it for now...at least it's a good way to save.

Nice find. Nothing beats getting an older note for face value. Also you were one away from a repeater! ;)

If you are ever overseas, consider buying Canadian money from a bank or exchange agent. They always have much older bills.

Really? My experience with getting Canadian money from overseas banks is that they only want current series, preferably in mint condition (anything with tape, pieces missing, writing is rejected). Accordingly, the notes they give out are also in good condition.

Obviously they are not going to accept damaged bills, I am talking about their inventory of Canadian currency. It usually sits and its usually older. If you are in the UK, go to a bank that exchanges Canadian currency and ask to see what they have. It will be mixed and older. Probably because it sits, but perhaps also because travellers to Canada will bring them back and exchange them well after the fact.
