Saw a funny sign at the bank today when going to use the ATM. It's good Friday today so the bank was closed but there was a sign posted that said that the bank could not supply rolls of loonies and toonies and 5$ bills because they ran out. ???
It's funny because this branch is in downtown Montreal, and it's fairly big too. I wonder why they are out of those coins and bills, could it be there are delivery problems because I have never seen this before.

Probably just a robbery in progress

They probably forgot to place their orders or take into account for Good Friday (maybe it was their shipping day). Typically Statutory or Public holidays requires orders to be placed by 10am, 48 Hours prior to their delivery date.

The bank likely ran out of loonies, toonies and $5 bills because demand for such denominations during the busy Easter shopping weekend is pretty high. I also agree that the orders were not done by a certain time, so they were likely not going to have any until the following Monday.
