Title: Old notes and their value

I have just found two old Canadian bank notes and wonder if anyone can estimate their value for me

Both notes are crisp and "new"

1973 $1 RW Lawson and Bouey AF7969807  one single fold down the center of the bill no other folds, marks, tears etc.

1979  $20 Crow and Bouey 56205777775 no folds, no marks, tears etc. one small smudge of something in margins on front corner

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The $1 note is worth face value.  The $20 note is actually something you want to hold on to.  The serial number is special... at least according to the Charlton catalogue.  The last seven digits, 5777775, form a palindrome, and these types of notes, dubbed "radar notes", are scarce on 1979 series notes because many people did not collect them.  The arguments about whether these notes should be considered radar notes is not worth getting into.  The catalogue's optimistic assessment of value is $500 in Uncirculated condition, though you should not expect to get anywhere close to this at sale.
