Title: 1967 Specimen Notes - Fake ???

I noticed two PMG graded 1967 Specimen notes consigned for an upcoming March 2025 Heritage Auction.

In my opinion these have been faked and graded as genuine 1967 Specimen notes by PMG.  The slab is one of PMG's old holders so they may have been graded and authenticated in the early 2000s.  All the 1967 Specimen notes I have seen for sale are from the November 1999 Bank of Canada sale and they all have specific characteristics that these banknotes lack.

I have sent an email to one of the consignment directors at Heritage that these banknotes are "suspect".

The font of the "Specimen" overstamp is suspect.

The images on this website show that 1967 specimen notes were punched several times with the word "specimen" and also stamped with the word "Specimen" on the face and back of the note.

Additionally, there should be a set number printed in red on the back of each specimen note.  This set number is not present on the graded specimen notes.

In my opinion, the PMG graded specimens are not genuine.

I don't buy specimens & don't pay attention to them as much as I do issued notes, but I believe @canada-banknotes & @Deans assessments are correct. The HA examples look suspect.

I recall seeing most legit Bank of Canada specimens having the "SPECIMEN" word punched diagonally (as seen in the Canadian Paper Money Museum link @Dean provided). Thy also have a control "set #" typed on the left top border of the reverse (as @Dean mentions).

Found a link to a previous auction in 2017.  No similarity to the ones posted and as such, the fake ones in my opinion should be removed.  Authentic specimens are well documented, so how did HA miss this?
