Title: 1986 $5 sheets 23,500???
Post by: Archey80 on August 18, 2006, 11:54:04 pm
Hey all I was wondering what you think of page 324 of the charlton book about the sheets of $5's where 23,500 sheets were printed. Then it says "It is doubtful whether all 23,500 sheets were sold." My Question is what would have they done with the extra sheets cut them into notes and used them? Or shreeded them? or what?

Thanks Arthur

I think the mint would keep some, so they can sell them after in the future. (like in 20 years) It was about 2 months ago when I seen the 1937s 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 dollar notes on the shopping channel. They were all UNC and selling for a good cost. The guy said the mint keeps notes and releases them in the future.
