Title: theIsland (PEI)
Post by: gendis on August 19, 2006, 01:24:11 am
I will be in PEI next week.  My wife has suggested I take my golf clubs but my Charlton 19th is lighter.  Can any one suggest any shops (CAND or otherwise), flea markets, etc.  I will be in Summerside and Charlottetown.

This is likely late....but there are great sand dunes on the north shore; great plays at the theatre; great golf courses at every turn and very quiet places to be together. Who is looking for old bank notes??  :-X

A short report on PEI numismatics.

The only dealer on the Island listed in the PEI Yellow Pages was Backmandy Collectibles.  Very little in the way of paper but a decent stock of Maritime tokens and Newfoundland decimals.  Better luck at a flea market in Summerside.  Nothing exceptional but some well-priced '37 and '54 notes.  I also purchased a BEG $10 in UNC for $20.00.

I saw Anne and Gilbert (the sequel to Anne of Green Gables) in Summerside twice.

The Island is charming and I plan to return.
