Title: 1995 Series US $5 bill
Post by: friedsquid on April 15, 2007, 01:59:12 pm
I got this in my change early this a.m. in Michigan. It's a series 1995. No rips, tears or markings but it is well circulated. Is it worth keeping?

If in C.UNC, it would be tagged at USD$40, but this note is clearly not in that nice of condition. It would be very close to face value. The catalogue I have only prices modern notes in C.UNC.

What is the title of the book you use for finding newer US currency prices?
Is it available at Chapters?

Thanks in advance

RED BOOK: Guide Book of United States Paper Money by Arthur and Ira Friedberg (cost US$19.95 or C$25.30)

or

Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money by Chester Krause and Robert Lemke   cost US$29.99

The Red book has the added advantage of stating the number printed so you know which are the scarcer blocks and reserve banks. I would get that one. I bought that specifically for that info. Prices are roughly comparable in the two books
