I've had this note for many years. It would probably grade an Original VF but has a major impairment. How much would you deduct for the pencil writing? There is a huge price spread between Fine and VF so I've never been too sure what's it worth...

I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm this, but I thought I read somewhere that the best grade a note can get if it has writing on it is a VF. I'm assuming this would mean, a UNC note with writing on it would grade a VF. This note has a couple of creases in it, corners look good, so I would grade it out at EF (without the writing). I guess maybe it would grade out at F.
Nice note though none the less.

Hanmer, an EF can only have one major crease I believe. This note has four but is otherwise very crisp. So without considering the writing it would be VF. But the question is, does a simple number written in pencil on the note reduce it whole $800 all the way into the under $500 range? Someone more entrepreneurial than myself would probably find a way to remove it anyway...
