Hello to all:
Again being new to the forum and the hobby I need help with the different types or classes of repeaters. Such as 2 digits repeating or 3 or just a single digit repeating. What are the different types called or is there even names for them? Thanks again to all that have answered questions before. This forum is great and hats off to all the members that make this forum what it is!! ;D

Jeff,

There are two basic types or classes of repeaters.  The terminology for these notes is not standardized
but the term "Class" is used quite often:

Class A (frequency of 1:10000)           ABCABCA

Class B (frequency of 1:1000)             ABCxABC        (where x can be any number)

The new 20th Edition catalogue will finally be recognizing these serial numbered notes and listing them in
the Special Serial Numbers section at the back of the book.

Here is an excerpt from the Charlton Press website on the new catalogue:

  I sure hope that 2 digit repeaters are included as well. These are what I've collected for awhile now. Numbers like 0606060  or  1717171.

Oh, they'd better.  Those are very cool, and look better than most 3 digit radars.  (I also really like the 50000005 type of 2 digit radars ;D)

How about a banknote with the following serial number...

4881881

Is this a 4 cycle repeater, a quasi-4 cycle repeater, a 4 cycle repeater wannabe, spendable cash?   ;)

See page 367 of the Charlton  20th addition for an explaination  of repeaters.
Your note would have to have the 4 as follows to qualify

      8814881   ABCDABC or 1268126  or 3648364 etc.

But it's still an interesting # combination ....maybe some day these will be sought after as well ;D
