I am trying to learn about the prefixes and the repeating numbers.

Trying hard to find an explanation about Radar notes and only find bits and bites here and there.     

What book should I be reading for a good explanation of Paper Money, radars, repeaters, etc.      Thanks Charlie.

I too are very new to this site and hobby. This site is awesome the members are a endless source of knowledge and very very friendly. I found loads of information just by reading past posts and articles written in many of the different rooms. Also do be shy to ask a question, there is no such thing as a dumb one, and there is always someone who has the same question as you but they are just shy to ask. The one article that I found very informative is one on replacement bills and how and why and when. It tells all, I will leave you a link to the article.

So welcome again and feel free to ask questions as I have done many times over and you will be very pleased by the amount of replies by these great forum members!!!

Hi Charlie, The book to get that explains what to look for is the 20th edition Charlton catalogue they can be found on ebay for one. The newest 20th edition is the one to get.

Radar numbers read the same forwards and backwards, like 3476743,7811187.  Repeaters are numbers like 3453453,6322632.

Does the Serial Number have to be 7 Digits long for some World Bank Notes the serial # is longer , does it still count as a Binary if its longer then 7 digits?

Yes. But you have to consult another catalogue for a price on a world binary note. I have a Japanese QA 363336 V sitting around. It is still classified as a "binary note."
