Title: Merritt/Mackie Signatures?
Post by: jonathan on June 09, 2004, 07:32:59 pm
Is it true that there are going to be new signatures on our Canadian banknotes someday - that being of Merritt/Mackie?

Please let us know.

Later,
Jonathan

Management Structure

The Bank of Canada is structured like many corporate entities: overall responsibility for business affairs rests with its Board of Directors, and the Governor of the Bank is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Collective responsibility for management of the Bank is in the hands of its Governing Council.

LMAO - Relax, Jonathan.... It was a joke.

Merritt is Tom Merritt, aka Tom here on the forums.

Mackie is Brent Mackie, aka BWJM (myself) here on the forums.

You had mentioned that EJD was "still Jenkins/Dodge".  I sarcastically asked myself "as opposed to who?" and then decided to have a little fun and act disappointed that we might have to wait a little longer for the bank to put on our signatures.

Bottom line... It was a joke.  There will likely never be a Merritt or a Mackie signing Canadian banknotes.

Well you never know.... if you get a quick PhD in economics and Tom does a M.B.A. majoring in monetary policy, and then you both get jobs in the Bank of Canada mailroom and slowly move up the ladder.........

I'll get right on that... Maybe call up Queens University or something and try to bribe them into giving me a Ph.D. in exchange for the $5 note I picked up today at the bank... ( HNP2388888 ).

I dunno Brent they might think its a fake with the J/D signatures and all. Better use an older K/D note just in case.

Still, some people will believe anything if it is put forward in a respectable light. So when you reach that magical post at the BoC just remember all of us who cheered you on to be bribing the Queens own U. in the first place. ;D

The latest signature combination is out!  Merritt/Mackie can now be seen!

Actually, they're not on real banknotes, but they do appear in the lower-right corner of the signature graphics for Paul, Tom and myself.

Paul has chosen a theme of the 1935 $20 note with Princess Elizabeth.  Tom elected to display the infamous "Ghost" note, and I will be displaying the full gambit of the Canadian Journey series portraits in my signatures which will change periodically.

Enjoy!
