Title: Printing error
Post by: bekky on November 13, 2007, 02:09:56 am
This note came out of a bank machine a few years ago.  Crisp and clean.  Can anyone advise how much it may be worth?
Thanks
Bekky

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

I believe this note is a "multiple fold" error. Somehow an extra piece of an adjoining note is attached.

A small or big part of an adjoining note might be attached. For a $5 note, it catalogues $200 for a small piece and $425 for a bigger one if the note is found in EF (all folding errors are found in EF condition because of a single fold in them).

Prices are rising rapidly on this kind of error. Try $800.

Actually, I was working at the airport at the time and a tourist got it out of the bank machine.  He wanted to exchange it for a "good" five.  I was happy to trade him.
I'm not sure how to go about selling it - any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks,
Bekky

You can always put it up on the TRADING POST in this forum to see what interest there is....
You can put it on EBAY......
You can check out some of the coin dealers in your area or attend the next coin/paper money show and see what dealers are interested...

You can ALWAYS say no to any offers if your not happy with them....but check around
