Hi all. I was visiting my local coin dealer today when they told me that they had a three or four digit $1000 Birds radar note. Wow. It was out of the store(bank vault) today, but according to them it is EF+/AU. I will be getting scans/photos on Wednesday for this forum. Any idea as to the ballpark value of this note? I have certainly never heard of one before, and there can't be many around...
They are looking to sell it and asked me to try to figure out a price for it.
Regards,

Ok, as promised here are some photos. Note is BC-44d, 1954 Modified Lawson-Bouey in EF, S/N A/H0744470.
Any help is appreciated.

There was a $1000 radar a little while ago. The grade may have been a little lower:

My guess would be 1300-1600 for this one. My suggestion is to wait a few more years until silver is like $100+ an ounce. Then it will start to make sense to buy these kinds of notes, if you can get them for 20 silver dollars or something. Too bad for the poor guy who paid $1000 for this back in the 70s. ;D
