Hi.
Does anybody on the forum have any guess as to which Parliament Building will grace the new $20?
With only two denominations left to complete the Journey series, we obviously only have two Parliament buildings left as well.
See what you think.
Bye 4 now ;),

My guess would be the Peace Tower.
-
You know, the Peace Tower would be my guess, too, seeing that it is in the centre of the Parliament buildings.
And the $20 note is the very middle denomination of the five current denominations of Canadian banknotes. :D

The Parliament of Canada Photo Gallery
The Peace Tower was originally intended as a monument to the service and sacrifice of Canadians during the First World War. Over the years, it has come to symbolise Canada's general commitment to peace amongst nations.

Given the connection between the Peace Tower and the events of WWI, I would have preferred to see the Peace Tower on the $100-bill, along with Robert Borden, our WWI Prime Minister. Ah well... they didn't ask me.
-
Hey, Jason. Did you get my PM?
-
I would have preferred to see the Peace Tower on the $100-bill...
I'm actually surprised that the peace tower was not included on the $10 note, the note's theme being peacekeeping and remembrance, after all. ::)
But yes, I'll put my 2¢ on the peace tower on the $20 as well.
-
Since the theme for the new $20 is Arts and Culture I think that it will be the Library of Parliment that will appear on the new $20.
-
The Library is already on the $10. They won't double them up.
I'm pretty sure that one of the remaining notes will have the Centre Block, and the other have the Peace Tower.
-
But the Peace Tower is part of the Centre Block, hmmm. :-/
-
Anyone have any other guesses?
-
The "Fraser Tavern" in North Bay; known far and wide for its long time committment to the betterment and happiness of the working man/woman..especially fur traders/trapper/loggers and railway workers...
WELL YOU ASKED for a guess!!!
How about the CN Tower...LYING CHEATING NO GOOD DAMN LIBERALS have to suck up to Ontario eh?? gawd I gotta get a better brand of pills ;D
-
Been spending a little too much time furthering the betterment of working men and women, have you Steve? ;D Keep up the good work! ;)
-
Good guess Steve, but I don't think a tipical bar as the Fraser Tavern will make it onto any notes ;D.Being from North Bay you have my vote :).

Seeing that Marc stated that the Peace Tower may be in the Centre Block, the new $20 may probably feature the Centre Block of Parliament, with the Peace Tower. :-/
If that is the case, what building is left for the new $50? ???
Jonathan ;)
-
THE ROYAL CANADIAN MINT !!!!!!! surrounded by RCMP officers..on their horses..chasing a SNOWY OWL over a mountain :)
-
I'll hazard another guess:
The centre block, along with the peace tower, will be on the $50.
The $20 will show the parliament buildings from across the river in Hull, similar to the view on the Birds $2.
-
The Centre Block of Parliament graces the front of the new $20. This is NOT a guess, but I am 99.9999999% certain. :) :) :)
(I saw a close-up of the note on the BoC website!)
I guess the Peace Tower will have to wait for the big red $50... ::)

Now that we know that the Center Block is on the new 20$; it's easy to guess that the Peace Tower will be on the new 50$.
The Queen is the head of state like the Center Block is the ''head'' of the Federal Government.; So the choice of the center block was logic for the 20 $.
For the Peace Tower; it's seem logic to me that it will be on the new 50$ bill with King's portrait; because WLM King ruled Canada during WWII and was at the San Francisco conference for the foundation of the United Nations Organization
